Autograph manuscript, written in an unidentified hand or hands, of a work on the history of drama in Scotland, 1715-1758, edited by W. H. Logan and James Maidment and published in Edinburgh, 1835. The manuscript is attributed to James Maidment and contains leaves written on versos of letters and letter wrappers addressed to him.

James Maidment, 1795?-1879, was a Scottish lawyer and genealogist, as well as an antiquarian, collector, and publisher, and a friend of Sir Walter Scott's. According to the bookdealer, this vol. was no 690 in Maidment's 1880 sale, probably consisting of items collected and annotated by him.
